It was inspired by the elegant but playful costumes in Venice the day before Lent begins. It's the Italian version of Mardi Gras. I dyed a quarter of the skein in Eggplant and the rest of it in splashes of Burgundy Rose, Renaissance Blue, Lilac, and Eggplant. YARN BASE I dyed it on my Buttery Soft DK base, which is made of 45% baby alpaca, 45% extra soft 19. 5 micron merino, and 10% silk, and it really lives up to its name!
